For the record, who's answering the interview?
SEVEN THORNS
Lars and Gabriel.

ATP
What is your band's name? How did you come up with that name?
SEVEN THORNS
Back in 1998, after a night out with plenty of beers, the first guitarist in the band (before the band had a name) "fell" into a big rose bush. The next day he recovered seven thorns from his ass.

ATP
So who's in the band and what instruments do you each play?
SEVEN THORNS
Gabriel: Guitar
Mads: Bass
Asger: Keyboard
Björn: Vocal
Lars: Drums
Mik: Composer

ATP
How would you describe your sound. What makes you unique?
SEVEN THORNS
We have quite an old school power metal sound, very 1990's! Lots of classical references in the melodies, in both the lead solos as well as in the vocals. We try to make melodies and chord progressions that are catchy without being trivial - somewhat recognizable yet original.

ATP
What bands have influenced each of you?
SEVEN THORNS
The dramatic nature of classical music is a big influence and we like to draw from the intense and evocative atmosphere of bands like Dimmu Borgir. Heavenly (FR) is a big inspiration as well as At Vance (DE) and Pagan's Mind (NO). The inspiration from old school of power metal is undeniable, of course! Gamma Ray, Helloween and Stratovarius.

ATP
How experienced are you on the stage, a virgin or whore?
SEVEN THORNS
We are the eternally attractive blond super model with the big tits…

ATP
How would you describe your shows?
SEVEN THORNS
A hell of a party!

ATP
Tell us about your favorite show and why?
SEVEN THORNS
There has been really many favorite shows - for different reasons. Great audience, great sound, great venue, nice girls and so on. If we have to point at one show it will be Winestock Festival 2012 In Neustadt, Germany. Fantastic place, fantastic people.

ATP
Tell us about your worst show and why?
SEVEN THORNS
We have played many shitty places but we always end up with having a party. In the past we have played shows where the audience simply didn't react to the music - both of them! These kinds of shows are essential to make a band bond, but not at all fun to play.

ATP
Tell Us About Your Dream Show, who you'd like to play with and where?
SEVEN THORNS
The line up for this year’s Loud Park festival in Japan looks really good, followed by a visit from some interesting Japanese twins ;-)

ATP
Do you have a street team and how can you join?
SEVEN THORNS
No, not yet. If there is anyone out there who wants to help us get a street team started please get in touch with us!

ATP
Do you have a record label and if not are you looking for one?
SEVEN THORNS
We are currently signed to Sonic Revolution. If we are to change label it will be because a new label can offer us better support to get bigger festivals and tours.

ATP
What are your plans for the future, in a year, 5 years?
SEVEN THORNS
We are heading for Japan in 2016 as well as recording a new album – already in planning.
Over the next 5 years we will tour a lot more, play bigger festivals and we release more albums – business as usual.
Our bass player has died for reasons unknown and we have used his death to promote a live DVD (however in 5 years there are no DVDs released) so the impact is not that big... just kidding – we expect him to stay alive and fulfill his duties.
Gabriel has played with G3.

ATP
Finally, do have any words on what Arm The Pit means to you?
SEVEN THORNS
Arm the pit is a great initiative and it really helps us to become more visible on the other side of the big sea. We really appreciate the work ATP is doing.
Metal Is Your Destiny!
